A Cartersville teen is facing multiple charges following a high-speed chase on Saturday.
According to a Rome Police Department report and Floyd County Jail records:
A GMC Denali driven by 17-year-old Elian Carlos Saucedo was stopped for speeding on Redmond Circle at Rogers Drive.
As the officer was exiting his patrol car, Saucedo drove off.
The vehicle was spotted by a Georgia State Trooper at Martha Berry Highway and Veterans Memorial Highway and a chase ensued.
Saucedo sped through a construction zone on East Second Avenue.
He then turned onto East First Street, before heading to Turner McCall Boulevard and Ga. 20.
The pursuit ended on Cartersville Highway at Hine Road when a Georgia State Trooper performed a PIT maneuver.
The report states that Saucedo’s vehicle was clocked at 115 miles per hour at one point.
Saucedo was also in possession of a stolen Beretta handgun.
Saucedo is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, fleeing or attempting to elude, operation of a vehicle upon the approach of an emergency vehicle, passing in a no-passing zone, failure to yield at a yield sign, failure to yield while turning left, speeding in a construction zone, passing on the shoulder of the roadway, improper turn, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving with a suspended license, failure to use a turn signal, two counts of driving without headlights, two counts of failure to obey a traffic control device, six counts of failure to maintain a lane, two counts of reckless driving, and three counts of speeding.
