-National Weather Service-
Storms will begin developing late this morning and into the early afternoon. While the severe threat has been scaled back, any storms that form have the potential to be strong to severe. The best chance for severe weather will be south of a line from Columbus to Macon as that’s where we’re expecting the biggest surge of warm moist air.
Potential Hazards:
Strong to severe thunderstorms pose a risk for damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes, especially south of a line from Columbus to Macon.
Locally heavy rainfall — We are not expecting nearly as much rainfall as Tuesday’s system, however, due to recent heavy rains and saturated soils, current forecast rainfall amounts will likely result in localized flash flooding and/or continued river/stream flooding.
