Donations are still being accepted for this year’s Thanksgiving Day Love Fest at the Rome Civic Center.

Since 1988, the event has been feeding anyone who needs a good meal on Thanksgiving Day.

Unfortunately, due to the increase in the cost of living, organizers are expecting an increase in the number of people to be served and will be providing carry-outs only. No inside dining this year.

The free traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. or until the food runs out.

Coats and jackets will also be given out to those who need them.

Due to a lack of storage space, donations of coats and jackets can be dropped off at the civic center on Wednesday between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m.

Donations of cakes, pies, and other desserts may be dropped off Wednesday after 6 p.m.

Those who have been designated to cook turkeys and dressings are asked to please deliver those on Thursday morning between 8 and 9 a.m.

If you would like to volunteer to work on Thanksgiving Day, call (706) 234-2091 to find out the time when you would most be needed.

Time clots are:

9 a.m.- 11 a.m.

11 a.m.-1 p.m.

1 p.m.-3 p.m.
