The holiday season will be here before you know it.
The Rome Christmas Parade is coming up on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, which is November 28.
If you would like to have an entry in the parade, the deadline is November 15 or it will cost you more.
It costs $100 to put an entry into the parade,” said Rome Christmas Parade co-chair Jerry Rucker. “If you are late, and are not there before the fifteenth, it’s going to cost you $50 more.”
The theme for this year’s parade is “CHRISTmas….It’s a Wonderful Life.”
“That was courtesy of Rev. Carey Ingram who has worked for a number of years to try to put Christ back in Christmas,” said Doug Walker with the City of Rome. “That was done very intentionally this year because that is what we celebrate.”
The lineup for the parade will start at 5:30 with the parade beginning at 6:30.
It will make its way up Broad Street from First Avenue to the Rome City Auditorium where the big Christmas tree will be lighted.
Rucker and Walker were guests on Thursday’s First News with Tony McIntosh.
