For the second time in a week, a motorcyclist has been killed on Highway 53 just north of the Ball Metal Recycling Plant in Shannon.

The latest crash occurred Thursday morning at the intersection of Shannon Circle.

According to Floyd County Police:

The Harley Davidson was traveling northbound on 53 when a pickup truck turned left in front of it.

49-year-old Bradley Marc Sharpe was fatally injured in the resulting collision.

Last Friday evening, a Chevy Silver Silverado attempted to cross Highway 53 at Shannon Road and collided with a Suzuki GSX.

That crash claimed the life of 26-year-old Jonathan Dunn of Rome.
