The Floyd County Commission has approved a request from parks and recreation to establish a $2 admission fee for youth basketball games.

The change was approved as part of the consent agenda during Tuesday’s county commission meeting.

Also approved were an increase in fees for power and water for pavilion rentals, the addition of a refundable key deposit, an increase in nightly rates at campsites, an increase in gymnastics fees, and the addition of two new gymnastics classes.

Commissioners also approved contracts for a potential land swap to enhance the Biddy Road Well site.

“The total amount for the county to receive in the swap is $7,034.49,” said Floyd County Manager Jamie McCord. “The total to be paid to Nathan Richey is $88,600.51. Mr. Richey will receive 7.28 acres and Floyd County will receive .058 acres.”

The commission also awarded a bid to Saps Construction, LLC for the demolition and installation of handicap ramps and sidewalks in Riverside Village and Lindale, and a bid to Otto Environm, Inc. for cat condos at Floyd County Public Animal Welfare Services.

Both projects will be paid for using 2017 special purpose, local option sales tax funds.
