Man charged with aggravated assault
A 28-year-old Rome man was jailed Friday on a felony aggravated assault charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Austin Jason Allen punched a woman in the face and then strangled her.
The incident occurred at a location on Chateau Drive.
Allen is also charged with a probation violation.
Two charged with drug trafficking
Two women were arrested at a location on Martha Berry Highway Friday on drug trafficking charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
45-year-old Misty Nicole Carpenter of Calhoun and 58-year-old Terry Renee Little of Silver Creek were found with approximately 52 grams of suspected methamphetamine, digital scales, and packaging materials.
Both are additionally charged with possession of meth and possession with the intent to distribute.
Carpenter also had a plastic baggie containing pills believed to be a controlled substance and was charged with possessing drugs not in the original container.
Alabama man arrested in Cave Spring for meth possession
A Cherokee County, Alabama man was arrested at Rolater Park in Cave Spring Friday on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
42-year-old Brian Jackson Peek of Centre had a white, crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

Report: Woman found driving a stolen mini-van
A Rome woman is facing a felony count of theft by receiving stolen property following her arrest Friday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
35-year-old Cecelie Nicole Dixon was driving a stolen Chrysler Town and Country Van, valued at $8,000, on East Second Avenue.
She is also charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license and driving without insurance.
