A man from Inkster, Michigan is facing charges in Floyd County for a couple of distributing crimes.
According to the arrest warrants:
30-year-old Zachary Ky Murphy purchased a cat from a pet store in July and less than two hours later, the cat was found on another person’s property, badly burned and dead.
The same day, Murphy threw a cylindrical container, simulating a pipe bomb into a smoke shop on Turner McCall Boulevard and ran away.
The incident caused the evacuation of the building and the Rome-Floyd County Bomb Squad was called to the scene.
Murphy is charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals, terroristic threats and acts, and hoax devices.
