There is an Excessive Heat Advisory in effect for Floyd, Bartow, Gordon, and Chattooga Counties until 8 p.m. Monday with heat indices of 105 degrees expected.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for Polk and Paulding County, also until 8 p.m., with heat indices of around 110 degrees possible.

The National Weather Service is reminding everyone to be aware of the heat this week.

They suggest limiting any strenuous outdoor activity to the morning or late evening.

Don’t forget to check in with those most vulnerable and never leave children or animals in the car.
