Judith Ann Neelley

Convicted killer Judith Ann Neelley was denied parole Thursday by the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles.

Neelley was originally sentenced to death for the 1982 murder of 13-year-old Lisa Ann Millican, who was abducted from Rome’s Riverbend Mall, driven to Alabama, injected with drain cleaner, and shot.

Her body was then dumped in Little River Canyon.

In 1999, then-Alabama Governor Fob James commuted Neelley’s sentence to life in prison.

Earlier this week, current Alabama Governor Kay Ivey sent a letter to the parole board, imploring them not to release Neelley.

If parole had been granted in Alabama, Neelley would have likely been picked up by Georgia authorities since she was sentenced to a consecutive life sentence for the kidnapping and murder of Janice Chatman.

Judith’s husband Alvin was also convicted of Chatman’s murder.

He died in prison in 2005.
