Man charged with child cruelty
A 35-year-old Rome man was arrested at his Rockcreek Drive home Monday on charges of 1st-degree cruelty to children and battery.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Tory Valdez Hobbs grabbed a child’s nose, causing visible redness and swelling.
Report: Woman arrested for theft after making herself a salad at a downtown restaurant
A Rome woman was arrested Monday on a warrant charging her with a misdemeanor count of theft by taking.
According to the warrant:
22-year old Callie Elizabeth Thweatt entered the kitchen at Harvest Moon on Broad Street after it had been closed and started opening the food coolers.
She then made herself a salad.
By touching the food items, Thweatt rendered them unusable.
The food, valued at $500, had to be discarded.
