Rome man facing burglary charge

An arrest has been made in connection with a burglary that occurred on April 2 at a residence on Blarney Way in Kingston.

According to the arrest warrant:

35-year-old Timothy John Parks of Rome forced his way into the home with the intention of committing a theft.

Parks is charged with a felony count of 1st-degree burglary.

Man charged with terroristic threats and acts

A 48-year-old Rome man was arrested Friday after he allegedly threatened a family member with a hammer.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jared Barnard Jett Sr. threatened to kill the victim if the victim did not leave the house on Tolbert Street.

The threat was witnessed by the victim’s children.

Jett is charged with terroristic threats and acts, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.

False imprisonment charge filed against Rome man

A 29-year-old Rome man has been arrested in connection with an incident at his home on Hearthwood Drive in Rome back on May 15.

According to the arrest warrant:

Neyver Perez prevented a woman from leaving her bedroom as she was trying to get away from him.

He also took the victim’s cell phone to prevent her from calling 911.

Perez is charged with false imprisonment and obstructing a person from making a 911 call.

Report: Man struck child in the face, leaving a bruise

A Kingston man was recently jailed on a felony warrant charging him with 1st-degree cruelty to children.

According to the warrant:

40-year old William Jarred Faslun struck a child in the face with an open hand, leaving a large bruise.

The incident occurred on May 15 at a home on Golden Way.

Woman facing identity theft charge

A Rome woman has been arrested on charges of identity theft and 4th-degree forgery.

According to the arrest warrants:

52-year-old Crystal Juanette Owens used someone else’s banking account number to create a fraudulent check.

The check for $285 was presented for payment at an ATM on Shorter Avenue on April 17.
