Man killed in single-vehicle wreck in Gordon County

The Georgia State Patrol has released additional information regarding a fatal wreck In Gordon County that occurred on Wednesday evening.

According to the GSP:

At approximately 9:27 pm, Troopers responded to a one-vehicle crash on GA 136 Connector in Gordon County.

The evidence at the scene indicated that a 2000 Ford F150 was traveling south on GA 136 Connector and the pickup traveled off the west edge of the roadway striking the west ditch.

The pickup continued traveling south in the west ditch and struck a culvert with the front of the pickup.

The impact with the culvert caused the pickup to vault over a private driveway and the pickup came to an uncontrolled final rest in the ditch facing west.

The pickup caught fire and the driver was trapped inside the pickup.

The driver, identified as 55-year-old Roger Haygood of Calhoun, was pronounced dead at the scene.
