The Floyd County Commission is expected to consider a rezoning request for a lawn mower repair shop at 68 Burton Road.
The applicant is seeking to rezone from Suburban Residential to Heavy Commercial to continue to operate the business. There have been neighbor complaints and subsequent Code Enforcement action. The planning staff also received several letters from neighbors opposing the application.
The planning commission is recommending denial.
In other action, commissioners will consider a request from Purchasing to approve Signature Tennis Courts, Inc for the resurfacing of twenty Tennis Courts at Etowah and Alto Parks in the amount of $111,465 using 2017 SPLOST funds.
Tuesday’s meeting will be held in the County Administration building located at 12 East 4th Avenue.
The caucus will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by the Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m.
