Kentucky man arrested for driving a stolen vehicle

A man from Louisville, Kentucky was booked into the Floyd County Jail early Monday on a felony count of theft by receiving stolen property.

According to jail records:

38-year-old Elmer Antonio Ramos was found in possession of s stolen 2020 Honda Accord, valued at $25,000.

Ramos was arrested at a location on Chateau Drive.

Report: Woman hit officer while being arrested

A 38-year-old homeless woman is facing a felony count of obstruction of officers after she allegedly struck a police officer with her hand.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

38-year-old Nikita Latrice Taylor hit the officer as she was being placed under arrest at North Broad Street and Calhoun Avenue.

She is also charged with misdemeanor obstruction and crossing the roadway elsewhere than a crosswalk.

Man charged with reckless conduct after firing gun

A Rome man is accused of firing a gun during an argument in the carport of a home on Cumberland Drive Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

34-year-old James Davidson Shahan pointed the rifle away from the victim and fired three times.

When police arrived, Shahan was on the couch and the .22 caliber rifle was under the couch.

He is charged with reckless conduct, simple assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Man arrested for possessing fentanyl

An Armuchee man was jailed Sunday after he was found with suspected fentanyl.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

32-year-old Patrick Payton Ridge also had a small amount of marijuana and a firearm while at a location on Shorter Avenue.

Ridge is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Woman arrested for drug possession during traffic stop

A traffic stop Saturday on Highway 101 at Shiflett Road ended with the arrest of a woman from East Point, Georgia.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

41-year-old Jessica Sue Shelvin was found with suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and three clonazepam pills, along with a glass smoking device.

She is charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of drug-related objects, and driving in violation of license class.

Man charged with burglary, aggravated stalking

A 37-year-old Rome man has been arrested on charges of burglary and aggravated stalking.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Reuvon Brandon Taylor forced his way into a residence on Maple Avenue and began removing his belongings and the stove from the kitchen.

By entering the residence and by sending the victim text messages, Taylor violated the terms of a Temporary Protection Order.

The arrest warrant stated that Taylor tried calling the victim while an officer was at the scene.

Woman accused of stealing jewelry, pawning ring

A Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with theft by taking.

According to the warrant:

32-year-old Amanda Michelle Rudeseal took jewelry, valued at $7,826, from a residence on Venetian Way last year.

Rudeseal pawned a ring taken in the burglary for $125 on Aug. 19.

Report: Woman found with 10 grams of meth

A 48-year-old Lindale woman was arrested Sunday on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jamie York Swanson was found with around 10 grams of methamphetamine and a set of scales while at a gas station on Booze Mountain Road.

Swanson is charged with possession of meth, possession with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.

Man charged with stealing vehicle in July of 2022

A Rome man is accused of stealing a vehicle from a location on Bells Ferry Road in July of last year.

According to the arrest warrant for 38-year-old Travis Dewayne Proctor, the vehicle was valued at more than $1,500.

Proctor was arrested on Saturday.

Convicted felon found with two guns during traffic stop

A traffic stop on Dean Avenue Saturday ended with the arrest of a Rome man on a felony charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

38-year-old Wesley Eugene Self was a passenger in the vehicle and he was not wearing his seatbelt.

He was also in possession of two handguns.

Self is additionally charged with not wearing a seatbelt and a probation violation.
