On Thursday afternoon the City of Rome welcomed the Consulate General of Switzerland in Atlanta Urs Broennimann with the key to the city.

The Swiss consulate came to Rome with the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce to see the growth of the Suhner Manufacturing facility on Anderson Road.   Suhner was the first Swiss company to open a manufacturing plant in Georgia back in the 1970s.

Broennimann spoke about how the current geo-political climate has many Swiss companies looking to move out of Russia and China and potentially into the United States.

The City of Rome expressed interest in attracting more Swiss companies to the area.
