A Rockmart man is accused of traveling to Floyd County to meet someone he believed to be a minor for the purpose of engaging in sex acts.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Trinity Denali Bean made contact with the person online and proceeded to send graphic photos of himself, and asked for nude photos of the person in return.
He then engaged in sexually graphic conversations and asked the person to meet for sex.
Bean is charged with criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, furnishing obscene materials to minors, electronic enticement of a child, obscene internet contact with a child, and sexual exploitation of children.
Report: Man kicked child down steps
A 49-year-old Rome man was arrested Monday at his Rising Fawn Trail home on 2nd-degree cruelty to children charges.
According to Floyd County jail records:
Brian Clayton Payne kicked a child down a set of steps onto a concrete walkway, causing visible injuries to the victim’s left leg.
Woman allegedly cashed stolen lottery tickets
A 33-year-old Rome woman is accused of cashing in lottery tickets that had been stolen in a burglary.
According to the arrest warrants for Amanda Dawn Fricks, the tickets were stolen on January 3 from a convenience store at 7130 New Calhoun Highway.
Fricks was found early Tuesday, walking in the roadway on Shorter Avenue, according to a jail report.
She then started running and resisted being put into handcuffs.
Fricks is charged with the unlawful influence of prizes, coercion, fraud, deception, or tampering with equipment or materials, as well as pedestrian in the roadway and misdemeanor obstruction of officers.
Two arrested on drug charges
Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers arrested two Rome teenagers at the intersection of Second Avenue and Broad Street on drug charges Monday evening.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
18-year-old D’Marion Marke’t Grier and 17-year-old Brandon Charles Griffin were found with over an ounce of marijuana, and digital in their vehicle.
Grier was also found in possession of a 9mm AR-style rifle.
Grier and Griffin are both charged with felony possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
Grier was additionally charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of drug-related objects.
Man charged with shoplifting, drug possession
A Rome man initially arrested for theft by shoplifting is also facing a felony charge of possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old Deqwan Keith Stafford concealed merchandise at the West Rome Walmart and left the store without paying.
During his arrest, Stafford was found with a substance believed to be steroids.
