Distinctive clothing links man to burglaries

Patrick Rodricas Smith

A man already in the Floyd County Jail has now been linked to burglaries by a distinctive jacket he was wearing.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

41-year-old Patrick Rodricas Smith entered West Central Elementary School by throwing a brick at a window back at around 1 a.m. on Dec. 18. He then took documents from inside.

On Dec. 19, Smith entered the Maple Quick Stop on Maple Avenue by throwing a concrete block through the window. He took a tower of Georgia Lottery tickets.

Then on Jan. 12, Smith pried open the rear door of an undisclosed business and took three laptop computers, 24 cartons of cigarettes, and various vaping products.

Smith was seen on video surveillance wearing a jacket that said “The G.O.A.T. on it linking him to other burglaries.

Smith has been in jail since Jan. 20 when he was arrested on drug charges and six counts of fraud against the Georgia Lottery.

Man charged with assault and battery

A 57-year-old Rome man was arrested at his West Little Indian Trail residence Sunday on charges of aggravated assault and battery.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Billy Derrick Boston put his hands around a woman’s throat in an attempt to choke her.

He also pushed the victim into a home appliance, leaving visible marks.

Man accused of making threat, kicking officers

A Rome man was arrested Sunday at his Porter Street home on five counts of felony obstruction of officers, and single misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and acts, and disorderly conduct.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

32-year-old Antarious Datrell Brown was heard on a recorded 911 call threatening the victim.

He then resisted arrest by kicking officers and refusing commands to get up.

Report: Man entered home, used electricity

A 30-year-old homeless woman was jailed Sunday on warrants charging her with 1st-degree burglary, theft of services, and criminal trespass.

According to the warrants:

Terrie Annette Carnes entered a residence on Lombardy Way on Oct. 9, 2022.

She then used electricity and other accommodations, avoiding payment for the services.
