Four people were arrested at a home on Morton Bend Road Wednesday on charges of 2nd-degree cruelty to children, contributing to the deprivation of a minor, and neglect of a disabled adult.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 37-year-old Rocky Eugene Hayes, 42-year-old Leslie Michelle Smith, 24-year-old Daniel Nickolas Johnson, and 23-year-old Heather Cheyenne Leatherwood were living in the house with three children, all under the age of 2, and a disabled adult.
They allowed the home to become so derelict that it posed a hazard to all who were living in it.
In addition to the deplorable conditions inside the house, the children had multiple bites and diaper rash, and the disabled adult was physically dirty, according to the report.
