Georgia gas prices drop another five cents compared to a week ago.

The average is now $3.38 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline

That is 44 cents less than a month ago, but 43 cents more than this time last year.

According to Montrae Waiters with AAA, Georgia drivers continue to see relief at the pumps, but now we need to keep an eye on the weather as hurricane season arrives.

These storms can affect prices by disrupting oil production in the Gulf of Mexico and impacting large coastal refineries.

Local averages on Monday were $3.25 in Floyd County, $3.22 in Chattooga County, $3.26 in Bartow County, $3.35 in Polk County, and $3.14 in Gordon County.
