Police are investigating the death of a woman at a home in the Shannon community.

Investigators are currently waiting on an examination by the state crime lab.

Officers responded to a 911 call at 77 Baker Street on Thursday at 6:15 a.m. in reference to an unconscious female.

Emergency medical services were already on the scene and attempting life-saving measures when police arrived.

Investigators are not prepared to make a conclusion about the manner of death until after the autopsy.

Circumstances of the events leading up to the 911 call are actively being pursued.

“It would not be prudent to speculate about the death of anyone until we have all the facts,” said
Jeff Jones, commander of the investigative division. “All deaths are considered to be homicides until
there is evidence to indicate otherwise.”

The deceased woman is identified as Kayla Cherie Gettrost, age 34.
