The Floyd County Board of Commissioners and Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation invite the public to a ribbon cutting on Friday, August 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the Charles C. Parker Center at Etowah Park at 1325 Kingston Highway, Rome.
Upgrades and renovations funded by the 2017 SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) have been completed. Those renovations and upgrades include complete renovation to the kitchen and restrooms, new ceiling tiles and light fixtures, and many other upgrades throughout the facility. The Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a budget in 2022 to have Multi-Craft Construction Services complete the renovations.
“We are excited to have the renovations and upgrades finished at the Parker Center,” RFPRA Director Todd Wofford says. “We can’t wait for the public to be able to come out and see the center and the many upgrades funded through SPLOST.”
