Local Option Sales Tax discussions will continue this Friday afternoon.

Representatives from the City of Rome, Floyd County, and Cave Spring are trying to come to an agreement for the distribution of the local sales tax revenues.

They have until the end of the month to reach a deal before it goes to arbitration, and the city and county remain relatively far apart on the numbers.

State law requires the communities to renegotiate the formula every 10 years.

Friday’s meeting begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Sam King Room at Rome City Hall.
