The Floyd County Commission will conduct the first of three public hearings regarding the FY22 Millage Rate for County M&O, Fire, and Solid Waste when it meets Tuesday night.
The rate has been tentatively set at 9.678, which is the same as last year.
However, it is considered a tax increase since the rollback rate would be 9.146 mills.
The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $53 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $40.
A public hearing regarding the FY22 Street Light Assessment is also on the agenda.
Commissioners will also consider the purchase of a 2023 Ford Passenger Transit from Prater Ford in the amount of $45,355.00 for Floyd County Public Animal Welfare Services.
A proclamation for Parks and Recreation Month is also on the agenda for the meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. at the county administration building.
The caucus begins at 4 p.m. and will include a training presentation from County Attorney Virginia Harman.
The board will also go into executive session to discuss the acquisition of property, litigation, and personnel.
