Mark Green named deputy Rome City clerk

Mark Green is the new deputy clerk for the City of Rome.

The Rome City Commission voted to affirm the appointment Tuesday night.

Green has been with the city since 2017.

He has served as the senior HR generalist with the human resources department and has most recently been working with the city clerk’s office as the business license inspector.

“Mark is a Roman and a Pepperell High graduate,” said Rome City Manager Sammy Rich.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Shorter and a Master’s of Business Administration from Jacksonville State.  I think Mark has proven to be a great team member for the City of Rome and will do an excellent job.”

Green replaces Joy Weeks, who is retiring after nearly 33 years with the City of Rome.
