STAFF REPORTS

Following the premiere of Stranger Things, season four on Netflix, which features landmarks like the Claremont House and Myrtle Hill Cemetery, another series is being filmed in Rome.

The 100 block of Broad Street (The Cotton Block) is expected to be closed for possibly the rest of the week from 2nd Avenue to 1st Avenue for filming on the FX series “Kindred.” The closure is expected to last five days.

Monday morning, crews began prepping the site for the filming.

The series is a TV adaptation of Octavia E. Butler’s novel by the same name.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the eight-episode sci-fi show centers on a young Black woman and aspiring writer who has relocated to Los Angeles, but, before she can get settled into her new home, she finds herself being violently pulled back and forth in time to a nineteenth-century plantation with which she and her family are linked.
