FLOYD COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Floyd County has entered into a conditional agreement for the purchase of property between Highway 27 and the Armuchee Connector for an agricultural center.

On Tuesday night, the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a conditional assignment and assumption of land purchase and sale with Ewing Companies, LLC, and Pinnacle Housing Partners, LP to purchase the twenty acres of land for $1.2 million.

They also approved a conditional option for the purchase and sale of real property with Rome Mall, LLC to purchase approximately twenty-four acres of land in the amount of $900,000.

The property is east of Mt. Berry Square Mall and fronts Three Mile Road and is adjacent to existing farmland, but it is centrally located with utilities.

The agricultural center was approved by citizens in the 2017 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax referendum.

It was budgeted at $8 million in the SPLOST, which is currently in year four of collections.
