Search warrant related to Rome murder results in eight arrests

NEWS RELEASE

On June 2, 2022, at about 8 pm, members of the Rome/Floyd County SWAT Team along with Rome Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, GBI, Rome/Floyd Metro Drug Taskforce, and the Bartow County Special Operations Team served a search warrant at 1505 Gordon Ave, the residence of Ms. Debra Lynn Askew.  At the conclusion of the search warrant service, the following were arrested at the scene. 

​Debra Lynn Askew, 61

​Tyreke Cameron, 24

​Bradley Leshun Chatman, 18

​Corey Lashun Chatman Jr., 17

​Justin Antonio Glenn, 19

​Chelsi Laniya Mack, 22

​Bryson Dorrell Moon, 24

​Devon Makai Young, 22

All parties were charged with Possession of Marijuana – Felony, and Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime – Felony.

Additionally, Ms. Askew was charged with Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon – Felony. Ms. Askew also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest.

​Corey Lashun Chatman had an outstanding juvenile pick-up order.

​Justin Antonio Glenn had an outstanding warrant.

​Devon Makia Young had an outstanding warrant.

This search warrant was issued from information received during the Derricus Smith homicide. 

No one has been charged with the homicide at this time. The investigation is still ongoing and more information will be released when available.
