ROME POLICE REPORT

Rome Police responded to a residence on Billy Pyle Road Tuesday night after there were reports of multiple shots fired.

According to the Rome Police report, a man at the residence told officers that a Volkswagen Jetta, with three or four males inside, began to follow his vehicle after he got off work.

They followed him onto the 400 block of Billy Pyle Road and stopped a couple of houses away.

As the man went to the front porch of his home, the Jetta passed, but then turned around in a neighbor’s yard, and came back.

That’s when someone in the vehicle started shooting, according to the man.

There was one bullet hole in the siding of the house and multiple bullet holes in the hood area of a car that was parked outside.

No one was struck by the gunfire and the investigation into the incident is continuing.
