(Via WZQZ Radio) The current owners of SKY21 Television in Summerville announced on Wednesday that the new owners of the station will be shutting down in Chattooga County and moving the TV station to Floyd County.

A press release from SKY 21 states the following:

“All of us at SKY 21 send a big “Thank You” to the many viewers, customers, and friends who have been watching, advertising, and calling us over these past many years.

The new owners will be moving WKSY to Floyd County, Ga in the near future.  When the FCC makes the changeover, our broadcast channels and Charter channels will go off the air.  This will occur most probably sometime in May.  Until then SKY 21 will keep broadcasting as usual.

For more information or if you have any questions, you may phone our office at 706-857-2121, Monday – Thursday. It has been our pleasure to serve the citizens of Chattooga County and the surrounding areas where SKY 21 is viewed!”

Gray Television, a company that has been aggressively acquiring low-power television stations, signed off on an asset purchase agreement on a deal that was finalized on March 31st.
