STAFF REPORTS

The tornado watch for Floyd and Polk Counties has expired.

The storm system that brought tornadoes and destruction to Arkansas and Mississippi weakened somewhat by the time it moved into our area overnight.

We did receive a lot of rain and there were some gusty winds during the early morning hours.

1.16 inches of rain was recorded at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport over a three-hour period.

Floyd County Public Works has put out high water signs on Old Dalton Road at Painter Road.

There are scattered power outages including one affecting less than five people off Highway 53 in the Plainville area.

The largest power outage in our area affects about 64 Georgia Power customers in the Adairsville area.

You can get updates with the GEORGIA POWER OUTAGE MAP.

Power lines are down on South Avery Road in Coosa, Winkle Road at Sike Story Road, and Sproull Road near Reynolds Bend.
