Floyd County Commission slated to vote on new elections supervisor

The Floyd County Commission is expected to vote on the hiring of a new elections supervisor when they meet Tuesday night.

The Floyd County Board of Elections is recommending the hiring of James Stephens, who is currently the city manager in Euharlee.

The election supervisor will serve as staff support for the board, attend meetings of the board, assist the board in fulfilling its duties of voter registration and the conduct of elections and provide daily supervision of other county employees who assist the board.

The election supervisor will be considered a full-time county employee.

Also Tuesday, commissioners are expected to take up a request from the elections board to approve a contract with Dominion Voting for advanced voting support, and Election Week Support.

The county commission meeting will be held at the County Administration Building on East 4th Avenue.

The caucus will begin at 4:00 pm, followed by the Board Meeting at 6:00 pm.

The meetings are open to the public.
