On Wednesday, March 16, at approximately 12:11 pm an officer with the Adairsville Police Department was dispatched to the lobby of the Adairsville Police Department in reference to a missing person report.

The officer met with the complainant who stated that his son had been missing since March 14, and he was last seen at the Hampton Inn.

Officers then responded to the Hampton Inn to review video surveillance and search in the immediate area on foot for the missing subject.

After searching the wooded area nearby, a body was located.

The officers then notified the investigators with the Adairsville Police Department and contacted the G.B.I. and Bartow County Coroner.

The body was removed from the wooded area and turned over to the coroner for further investigation.

The missing subject was identified as Aaron Glenn Douglas Malone, 33 of Temple, GA.

All preliminary evidence on the scene indicated an accidental fall may have been the cause of death.

Although no foul play was suspected, the Bartow County Coroner had decided to have an autopsy performed on the body at the state crime lab.
