A disturbing case of vandalism at a local church.

Racial slurs and threats were written on the siding in the rear of the Flatrock Baptist Church on Cunningham Road.

It appeared as though the graffiti was written with a permanent marker with at least one word being misspelled.

According to the Rome News-Tribune, the vandalism was discovered Saturday by the chair of the church’s board of deacons.

Trash had also been strewn across the ground below the writing.

Floyd County Police are investigating.
