The 2022 Martin Luther King JR Freedom March began in Downtown Rome on Monday morning.

The cold temperatures did not deter the public from gathering together for the community event, which celebrates the birthday and life work of Dr. Martin Luther King jr, the chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism and racial unity in the Civil Rights Movement.

The March began at the corner of First Avenue and Broad Street and continued down to finish at the Rome City Hall.
