Calhoun Police Department receives Community Grant

January 12th, 2022 – 3:00 PM

Staff Reports –

The Calhoun Police Department in conjunction with the Gordon County Fire Department
have received a $4,000 Community Grant from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation to
improve the communities we serve and protect.

These funds were used to assist the families in need by providing gifts from “Santa” this
past Christmas with the “Santa in Uniform Project.” Calhoun Police Department Officers
teamed up with the Gordon County Fire Fighters to take these children shopping for
things on their lists.

Chief Pyle states, “Seeing the smiles on these children’s faces while building that
helping community connection is very rewarding in itself.”

Many thanks go out to the local Walmart team that assisted us with the “Santa in
Uniform” project: Sarah Tilley, Walmart AP Coach, and Tien Trinh, Walmart Manager.

Police Department.
