Veteran’s Day ceremony Thursday at Myrtle Hill

The community is invited to honor all veterans Thursday during a special ceremony at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

Bill King, a retired Air Force Major, and the Rome Exchange Club’s Americanism committee mark the 100th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier which was dedicated on November 11, 1921.

The program begins at 11 a.m.

Earlier this week, West End Elementary hosted the replica of The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

5th & 6th graders learned about the importance of remembering the sacrifices of all of our soldiers on the tomb’s 100th anniversary.
