Motorcycle pursuit ends with an arrest at Polk County line

Polk County Police Department –

On November 9th the Polk County Police Department was dispatched to the area of Highway 101 in reference to a motorcycle pursuit that began in Gordon County and ended at Floyd County at the Polk County Line. 

Officers spotted the motorcycle in the area of Highway 101 near the City Limits of Rockmart. The motorcycle continued to drive erratically until Patrol Officers activated their emergency equipment. 

 The motorcycle initially failed to yield to Patrol Officers, but eventually came to a stop near the intersection of Highway 101 / Highway 278 near Bojangles.

Upon the conclusion of the traffic stop, it was determined that the motorcycle was stolen. 28-year-old Tyler L. Roden of Rome was taken into custody at 8:53 PM without incident.

Mr. Roden also had warrants out of other jurisdictions.

Suspected Marijuana and Methamphetamine were also located during the traffic stop. 

The Rockmart Police Department also assisted in closing down intersections during the traffic stop.
