Students in both the Rome City and Floyd County Schools are out for fall break this week.
When Rome students return to class, they will continue to have to wear face coverings.
Rome City Schools will remains in Phase Two of their COVID-19 plan.
Citing the decrease in cases, Superintendent Louis Byars and other school leaders have determined that the best way to prevent a spike in cases is to continue the current measures through the end of October.
The school system will continue to monitor the numbers, re-evaluate their status and provide guidance via the system’s social media pages, direct text messaging system, and webpage.
