The rate of new COVID-19 infections in local schools saw another decline last week.

18 new cases were reported in the Rome City School System, down from 24 the week before and 38 two weeks ago.

All Rome City Schools will remain in phase two of the system’s COVID-19 plan, meaning masks are required, at least until fall break.

Floyd County Schools reported 28 new cases last week, down from 51 the previous week and 78 the week before that.

No Floyd County Schools are in phase two for this week.
