Rome, Floyd County Schools closed Friday

September 2, 2021–9:00 p.m.

STAFF REPORTS

A four-day weekend for students and staff in the Rome City and Floyd County School Systems.

Friday is a state administrative day as proclaimed by Governor Brian Kemp.

The day off will allow those who work within the Rome City Schools the time to schedule and acquire the COVID-19 vaccination, should they desire to do so.

A vaccination event will be held at the Rome High School College and Career Academy from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday.

The vaccine event is open to the public, and walk-ins are welcome.

Meanwhile, the Floyd County School System will be taking extra cleaning measures during the four-day weekend.

In addition, they have partnered with Floyd Medical to offer the Pfizer vaccine to anyone ages 12 and up with a parent or guardian present at the Coosa High home football game versus Armuchee High Friday night.

While vaccination is encouraged by both school systems, it is not a requirement.
