More indications the job market remains strong in Northwest Georgia as first-time claims for unemployment insurance fell in July.

In Floyd County, there were 514 claims last month, down from 768 in June.

Initial claims in Bartow County went from 750 in June to 476 in July.

Gordon County went from 387 in June to 347 last month.

Polk County was down from 295, checking in at 155, and Chattooga County saw first-time claims fall from 117 to 72 over the month.
