Rome City Commission meets Monday

August 22, 2021–11:33 a.m.

STAFF REPORTS

Rome City Commissioners will consider an application from Floyd Medical Center for a special use permit for a helipad when they meet Monday night.

The helipad would be located on the roof and it will be most accessible through the ambulance entrance on Second Avenue.

The commission will also consider annexation requests for properties on High Street, Harrison Road, and Burnett Ferry Road during the meeting which starts at 6:30 pm at Rome City Hall.

First Reading of an amendment to the City of Rome’s curfew ordinance is also on the agenda.

The amendment would set the curfew at 10 pm instead of the current 11 pm.

Since this is a First Reading, a public hearing and vote will not come until the next commission meeting.

During the caucus, which starts at 5 pm, commissioners will get an update from Missy Kendrick with the Rome-Floyd County Development Authority.
