On Saturday morning the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the BLESS Coalition and Crosspoint Community Church to present the “Give A Kid A Chance” event.
Hosted at the Floyd County Jail on New Calhoun Highway, the “Give A Kid A Chance” program provided book bags, school supplies, boxes of food, and more to kids in need within the community.

WRGA News interviewed with Floyd County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain David Thornton, Crosspoint Community Church Multi-Site Pastor (Campus Pastor – Rome) Jason Cribb, and also Floyd County Sheriff Dave Roberson, to find out more information about this community event (the interview can be viewed in the WRGA video located above).

Other Rome/Floyd agencies were also present at the event, including the Rome Police Department Selective Enforcement Unit, which was on-site inspecting and replacing car seats.

The Rome-Floyd Fire Department was on-hand with their Fire Safety Educators to speak with families about fire safety. Additionally, Officers with the Floyd County Police Department and the Floyd County Prison were also present to help out.
