Paulding County Sheriff’s Office –

According to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, on June 20th, 2021, at approximately 6:45 PM, Paulding E-911 received a call from the victim to reference a possible domestic dispute between her and her boyfriend. Deputies immediately responded to 980 Hitchcock Road Dallas, GA 30157 which is where the incident occurred.

When Deputies arrived on the scene and entered the home, they discovered the body of a female victim who appeared to have been shot. It was later determined that the female victim, who has been identified as Deanna Jean Rose (W/F, 27 YOA), was deceased. Upon further investigation inside the home, Deputies located a male who appeared to have a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Deputies discovered that the male was clinging to life and EMS personnel had him airlifted to a metro Atlanta hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The male has been identified as David Vern Price (W/M, 56 YOA). At last check with the authorities at the hospital, Price was still listed in critical condition.

After speaking with neighbors and the children who were in the home, Detectives determined that Rose and Price were in a relationship and had engaged in some type of dispute just before the 911 call was made by Rose. The evidence suggests that Price shot and killed Rose and then attempted to kill himself. Detectives are still trying to determine what led up to this tragic chain of events.

The Sheriff’s Office has determined that if Price survives his injuries, he will be facing multiple charges to include Murder (Felony).
