Floyd County Commission meets Tuesday

The Floyd County Commission will consider amendments to the animal control ordinance when it meets this evening.

One of the changes provides additional relevant definitions to eliminate harmful tethering practices.

The other would address the payment of anticipated costs of the impoundment and care of animals.

Commissioners will also take up an amendment to the Unified Land Development Code Unified aimed at decreasing red tape and other obstacles to desirable growth and development.

Another proposed amendment to the ULDC is related to the use of tables and ordinance sections related to distilleries, wineries, and breweries.

The county commission caucus begins at 4 p.m. in the caucus room located in the Floyd County Administration Building on East 4th Avenue.

The regular meeting will follow at 6 p.m. in the community room.
