Rome welcomes new assistant city manager

The Rome City Commission voted Monday night to confirm the appointment of Meredith Ulmer as Rome’s new assistant city manager.

She will start her new job on June 14.

Ulmer is currently the assistant planning director for the City of Cartersville.

She has also served as code enforcement officer for the City of Cartersville as well as city clerk.

Ulmer has also been a case manager with the state Division of Family and Children Services, an instructor at Georgia Highlands College and legislative aide in the Georgia Senate.

She replaces Patrick Eidson who left at the end of 2020 for a job as assistant city manager with the City of Carrollton.
