NEWS RELEASE

The membership of the Exchange Club of Rome has made an additional contribution in the amount of $15,000 to the Exchange Club Family Resource Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
The club founded the Family Resource Center 30 years ago in support of the national project adopted by Exchange, child abuse prevention (CAP). The FRC is the only fully accredited Exchange CAP center in Georgia and utilizes the now widely accepted Parent Aide model. The local Parent Aides are fully trained professionals that go into the homes of clients to help families identify factors that may lead to child abuse. They then work with the client’s families to overcome situations that they find.
Client families are referred to the FRC by schools, DFCS, courts, doctor’s offices, friends, and in some cases by what is called self-referral when the client realizes that they are overwhelmed and reach out themselves for help to protect their family situation.
Those pictured in the check presentation are (L-R) Lee Roberts, Exchange President-Elect, Larry Walker, Club President, Tina Bartleson, Executive Director of the FRC, Hugh Bonner, FRC President, and Kelly Sanker FRC Vice-President.
