Flash Flood Warning in effect until 2:15 p.m.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Floyd, Bartow, Chattooga, Gordon, and Polk Counties until 2:15 p.m.

At 8:16 AM, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area.

Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

Expect flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…Rome, Dalton, Cartersville, Calhoun, Cedartown, Summerville, Chatsworth, Jasper, Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Hiawassee, Blairsville, Adairsville, Rockmart, Euharlee, Tallapoosa, Trion, Varnell, Emerson, and Nelson.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads.

Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
