On Thursday, just after 6 p.m, officers with the Adairsville Police Department responded to 16 Colt Court in reference to a burglary in progress.

Once the officers arrived they surrounded the empty residence and began checking the front door for access.

The garage was unsecured so the officers then made entry, announcing themselves as the Police Department.

The bottom level of the residence was cleared and the officers then made their way toward the stairs while announcing Police Department once again.

They then heard someone respond with “I’m Here.”

The officers then gave loud verbal commands to slowly come down the stairs showing his hands.

The officers continued to give loud verbal commands until the suspect was in sight.

The officers then were able to handcuff and detain the subject without any resistance.

Once handcuffed the officers were able to identify the subject as Brian McDaniel age 36 of Adairsville; whom they had been looking for for the past few days.
